Season Reports 2 - Paul and Graham Ginetta G50 Britcar

Paul's Season. "Following a part season in 2018 the decision was made to sign up with EDF for the whole of 2019. As it turned out, this was a good decision as I enjoyed one of my most successful and certainly most enjoyable seasons.

I shared the car with Graham Roberts for 8 out of the 14 rounds contested with Graham driving two rounds and myself driving four rounds single-handedly.

Britcar continues to grow from year to year with a consequent increase in competition in class and overall. Nonetheless we improved on our performances from 2018 and EDF put together a great team to run the car with the car always being immaculately presented. Throughout the season the car proved itself to be 100% reliable and any minor niggles were dealt with at the circuit from the resources to hand.

The highlight for me was the last race of the season driving the car in extremely difficult circumstances at Oulton Park and where the set up on the car put us in a class of our own being able to deal with the extremely difficult conditions with relative ease and secure a class win (third class win of the season).

The plan is to team up with Graham and be back in Britcar next year, with EDF, to mount a full campaign and improve upon of fifth position in the championship."

Graham Writes " 2019 has seen my first (nearly) full season in the Britcar Endurance Championship. It all came together a bit late with a deal between myself and EDF Motorsports being struck to race with them driving a Ginetta G50 alongside their current driver Paul Calladine, who owned the car.I had previous experience of driving a Ginetta G55 GT4 from competing select rounds of the British GT championship last year, so I knew what to expect from the car. But competing with a new team and new driver would perhaps take some time to get used to.

My first race would be the second round at Silverstone (due to prior commitments) which would also be the first time for me to meet the team. Very quickly

I felt at ease when I saw their professional and methodical approach to running a two car team whilst remaining

unequivocally down to earth at the same time. This feeling was carried forth after driving the car in testing which, quite frankly, was the best car I had driven.

Over the course of the season there were ups and downs and good fun from all involved. Generally speaking we have enjoyed a successful year with two wins, two 2nd places and two third places which ultimately rewarded us with 2nd in class and 5th overall in the championship. Both me and Paul have grown more in confidence which is testament to EDF Motorsports who have done a fantastic job to provide us with a fast and reliable race car whilst never losing sight of the reason we go racing. For fun!"

Eddie (EDF Team Boss) Added " These 2 guys developed as effective pairing during the season, and it was great to run them my Guys were able to give them a great car in part because of the feedback that we had from them both. Paul and Graham's Driving at the penultimate round at Oulton Park in what we could describe as trying conditions was sublime to say the least, Here's to Next Season.
