Silverstone GP, A very Blustery weekend is good description to Silverstone for Round 2 of the Britcar Champiopnship. Testing on the Thursday for the Seat For Ash & Martin found some good pace and improvements in the car, the woes from the previous round (gearbox and diff) Fixed. The Friday Test was good for the Ginetta and again good Pace and time found there with Graham Roberts Joining Regular Driver and Car owner Paul Calladine
Then on onto Saturday The weather no better, not wet but blowing a gale, keeping the awnings down was quite a challenge.
Qualifying had us off to a good start, with time set by both cars on the pace a high 2:15 in one and a low 2:16 in the other. That put us 2nd and 4th in class. We Had a good first race in The Seat, with Martin putting in a solid stint and Ash adding to it taking a 3rd place, and 1st trophy for the Season. with a promise of more to come. First race in the Ginetta also showed signs of great promise, with Paul making a good start and the pace of the car very consistent, Graham taking over and getting quicker as it went along.
Second Race, also showed that we are compettitive in a good field of class 4 cars although the final result did not show that, to be fair. although a charging Graham made for some excitement on the timing screens for us showed him climbimg up to 4th only 17 seconds adrift on the 3rd place of Tim Docker. Sorry all for the late race report (Must do Better! Ed) been very busy here prepping for Brands and Round 3 and our MGB off to Zandvoort this same Weekend.
Thanks to Marv for Photos again at Silverstone, And also thanks to all our Crew they Smashed it out at Silverstone under trying conditions.
See you all on Friday..
